project description

A new insertion to daily life that reinterprets the function of indoor parkings

as studies suggest, indoor parkings in urban contexts are in continuous disuse and will lose more of their functionality over the course of the next 10 years. this presents us with an opportunity to rethink daily life and commute, adding a function that is sustainable and is capable to evolve with its urban context

the structure of an indoor parking, designed for greater loads and the maximized ceiling height provide an excellent opportunity for indoor farming. incorporating urban farming in a transportation hub such as lampugnano is an opportunity to cut down on transportation and revitalize a vital node of the metropolis of milano

the greenlab in addition to the neighboring monte stella and outdoor parking create an auto sufficient cycle of life in terms of irrigation, energy production, and compost. greenlab is complete with a zen garden and local market. The added second skin differentiate between the spaces that are transformed and the parking that remain active within the same structure
