the iconic tiger yacht, designed in the 70s, is rethought for contemporary use. the project includes the refitting of the original design and the restyling of the yacht to ensure the continuation of its legacy
the original tiger yacht was conceived as a floating loft. it is engineered and designed to accommodate 1-6 people, but is tailored for the use of a single person or a couple. in a vivid yellow color, this yacht represented the ultimate escape
the yacht is refitted to manifest the iconic 70s with vivid patterns that recall the original model. the interior is completely renewed to allow for a variation of use of the open space interior. the kitchen is tailor-made to rotate maximizing the space. both sides of the yacht offer seating and storage. mobile partitions allow the night area to gain privacy
amix of patterns and materials render this yacht a unique experience on water. the yacht’s exterior offers three different seating areas and an extendable deck
for the restyling phase, the yacht is redesigned to host 5-12 people. the communicating spaces of the original design are expanded on two floors with private rooms and an atrium. the new tiger yacht is sustainable in terms of energy and water consumption. the exterior and interior of the yacht is proposed in three different scenarios for a growing audience
the first scenario is inspired by the tiger refitting, immortalizing the spirit of the 70s. the second tiger is contemporary and uses organic material and soft tones to create a floating nest. the third tiger is a provocative retake on noah’s arch with a more maximalist approach
the use of the atrium on the lower deck gives every yacht a space that is a blank canvas open for individual interpretation, at the heart of the tiger yacht
the circulation around the tiger yacht is fluid. communication between the different spaces is adjustable
the yacht is thought of as a place for gathering which is enhanced by the natural curves of the yacht that are maintained throughout the interior spaces
the air and light circulation throughout the yacht is designed to enhance the outdoor experience in a comfortable setting. the engine, solar panels, and water purifier make this yacht a sustainable alternative to marine cruising.
