this project is an example of architecture that enhances resources for a more sustainable future, through an intensive study of vertical farming and its socio-economic impact on the urban fabric in which it is collocated. the wonderfarm is a high-rise building designed to evolve over the span of 15 years as a mixed-use building integrated in the urban planning of the developing context
as part of a masterplan, the skyscraper is a response to a combination of issues the neighborhood faces. it introduces daily life to a research complex, challenging the boundary between private and public. the historical presence of water bodies is enhanced to expand the landscape and order the circulation around the wonderfarm itself, making the area a combination of production, leisure, and communal education
through a series of functions and a careful study of the structure, the wonderfarm becomes a self-sustainable machine that radiates its environmental benefits to its context. energy consumption and climate control are two major issues that calibrate the use of material and dictate the structure of the buildings. In order to launch the productivity, in the first years, spaces that are not able to function immediately are shared with the public to optimize all spaces fully
verticality and horizontality are two factors that work closely in order to insure the involvement of the neighborhood in the growth and development of the urban project. the wonderfarm works on the the small, medium, and large scale to guarantee mobility and integration in the urban fabric
